Most Popular Instagrams in 2016

Sail Boat - Coffs Harbour

It’s that time of year again. Time look back on the year that was and see which were my most popular Instagram posts during 2016.

However before I get into that, I thought I would outline some of the changes that I have made to my Instagram accounts over the new year. Particularly for those of you who have been following for a while and have been caught off guard by the changes.

At the end of 2016 I made the decision to rebrand of my business, which as a result flowed onto my personal branding and these changes to my Instagram accounts. When I started this account, it was primarily focused on this particular travel blog, with my personal account being focused around my photography business. However with the change of brand, I thought it was best that my main (and most popular) account keep its focus on that business, and be changed accordingly.

Instead of starting from scratch and building a completely new account for myself, I then decided to switch up the branding on this travel related account to better reflect what it was, my adventures, my down time and just generally more me. Making it my personal Instagram account.

Clear as mud? Thought so… How about you check out all of my Instagram accounts and work out which ones you’d like to follow.

Now that I’ve got all of that out of the way, it’s time to get back on track and showcase my most popular Instagram posts from 2016. I took a tonne of awesome travel photos through out the year growing the account and earning over 10,000 likes amongst all my posts. Something I’m pretty happy with, given that it’s not my primary focus.

One thing that did intrigue me though, a lot of personal my favourite photos from the year didn’t seem to be as well received on Instagram as these particular shots. It’s interesting to see how the two compared.

So here’s the ones that received the most likes over the course of the year…
